A Winter Embrace

Winter is the season of life’s quietest joys ~ crisp air on rosy cheeks, fireside warmth that leaves you cosy and content, long walks in the bush, and along wind swept coastlines, bundled up and in awe of the stark beauty of the Australian landscape. Below, we’ve gathered a few of our favourite ways to savour the subtle pleasures of the season, however you choose to spend it.

WINTER’S SYMPHONY

Winter is a symphony of subtle sounds: the crunch of frost underfoot, the whistle of the wind through bare trees, the crackle of an open fire, and the silence of snow softly falling. Amidst this quiet, the melodic warble of magpies before rain adds a hauntingly beautiful note to the season's tranquil soundtrack. Let nature work her magic on you. May the wind carry your worries away.

HOME

Our must-haves for creating a calm and cosy sensory experience at home.

Create a sanctuary
Transform your space into an oasis of comfort against the winter chill. Start with a crackling fire or the gentle hum of a heater, filling the air with comforting heat. Bring warmth in through natural tones of cocoa and warm greys and whites. Add texture through layers of good quality linen and soft blankets – buy well, buy once. Sheepskin throws draped over furniture or on your bed, invite you to sink into their warmth. Bring nature inside through dried elements like sculptural branches or summer’s left over dried flowers. A bedside posy and a simple scented candle will add a sense of luxury. Or gather a big bunch of eucalyptus for calming winter greenery.

Bush Remedies Golden Hour
A calming staple from our Bush Remedies essential oil collection. Place a few drops onto your pillow to promote calm, inner peace and tranquility. Balancing fragonia helps overcome jetlag and body clock issues, lavender promotes sleep while warm and grounding buddha wood is your descent into peace and relaxation.

Vintage Landscape Postcards
Make time to dream. Find a calm and quiet space and begin each day or week by journalling, drawing or simply being still. Write down your thoughts in a journal or on beautiful vintage postcards, then place them inside a glass cloche, or somewhere you will see them as a reminder of your daydreams and intentions.

Southern Wild Co Scented Candles
The glow of a scented candle casts a gentle, inviting light, creating a serene ambience.
