The Listening Line

Drawing, Journalling & the Music of Place

A Creative Retreat
with Julianne Ross Allcorn
Friday 1 – Sunday 3 May 2026

Hosted by Southern Wild Co,
Bank House Atelier, Rockley NSW

OVERVIEW

In the quiet rhythm of the village, drawing becomes a kind of listening – a way to tune in to the landscape, its stories and the gentle music of time.

Guided by artist Julianne Ross Allcorn, The Listening Line is a three-day creative retreat at Bank House Aterlier, Southern Wild Co’s home in the historic village of Rockley. Together we’ll explore the architecture, interiors and natural surrounds of this evocative place through drawing, journalling and quiet observation.

Participants will move between indoor and outdoor settings – the atelier, the gardens, the parkland and bush across the road, the old School of Arts and the historic village streets – each exercise inspired by rhythm and place. A pianola scroll provides a symbolic thread through the weekend: a musical roll of breath and line, connecting sound to drawing, drawing to story.
