Bendigo Pottery for SWC Heirloom

Southern Wild Co’s decadent Magic Pudding candle has been reimagined for Christmas 2023 in a beautiful collaboration with Bendigo Pottery.

Honoured to team with the longest-operating pottery company in Australia, we are excited to offer a limited edition Magic Pudding candle, hand poured into a handcrafted pottery pudding bowl. Our union with Bendigo Pottery brings together many of our favourite things – Australian historical narrative, authentic local design, and old-fashioned home cooking – and the outcome is sure to inspire masses of joy and nostalgic warmth during your festive season and beyond.

For six generations, Bendigo Pottery has graced the dinner tables, larders, and kitchen benches of countless Aussie homes. The heritage brand was born in a shack beside Bendigo Creek in the gold rushes of the 1850s. A Scottish settler named George Duncan Guthrie pulled local clay from the earth and shaped a pottery business that was said to rival the great Staffordshire potteries of 19th-century England. Their comfortingly familiar ranges, such as Langleyware and Waverlyware, add to the legacy of archetypal Australian design and sit in the archives of the Powerhouse Museum and the National Museum of Australia.

Bringing it back to the heart of the home, the kitchen is where precious childhood memories of cooking and baking with loved ones are formed. To us, the pudding bowl is a timeless, poignant symbol of this nurturing feeling of togetherness and a natural fit for our celebrated Magic Pudding scent. The cosy fragrance is a joyous expression reminiscent of warm family gatherings and delicious home baking with spicy notes of baked citrus, cardamon and cloves wrapped in warm aromas of sandalwood and vanilla – with a cheeky dash of whiskey! Now served in a highly collectable piece of handmade Australian pottery.
